So today I’m using an iphone and I realize that a website known as zinio.com offers a ton of free magazines (specifically to iphones). Me being me, I obviously start to question whether or not this could work in a browser, assuming that we could convince the zinio website that our connection at home is actually an iphone user agent, it must work.

It ended up working and the browser I’m using here is Firefox v 3.0 (RC2), you can Download it here if need be.

Shoot open Firefox and the first thing we’re going to do is add a User Agent called ‘iPhone’ - you’ll only have to do this once from now on and luckily, at least with Firefox, switching between user agents is very user friendly.

1) Click Tools -> User Agent Switcher -> Options -> Options — From there, you’ll see two tabs to your left, click User Agents

2) From there, click Add and enter the following information as shown:

Description: iPhone
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/3B48b Safari/419.3

Leave everything else blank, it should now look like this:

3) Once complete, go to: Zino.com/iPhone

4) Voila! All the magazines should appear.

To improve your viewing pleasure, you can hit F11 and browse the pages that way. And when you’re done, just quickly change your User Agent Back (Tools -> User Agent Switcher -> Default)
